- composed mainly of silica or quartz-like particles
- durable
- easy to clean
- use mild, acidic cleaning solutions
Calcareous stone:
- marble, travertine, limestone and onyx
- composed of mostly calcium carbonate
- sensitive to acidic cleaning products
- may require different cleaning procedures
Common Sense Approach to Cleaning and Care:
- coasters are your new best friend (especially for alcoholic or citrus drinks)
- keep trivets or mats handy for hot dishes or plates
- seal your granite every one to two years
